The SecondLife Multi-verse
The SecondLife Multi-verse
Hello my name is Con Maurirere and this is my blog about self learning and improving your own personal learning network through the virtual world known as SecondLife.
(hypergridbusiness.com, 2016)
I designed
this blog so that you would be able to easily follow simple steps in order
to locate and safely install the SecondLife viewer and to use
the viewer to navigate around the virtual world in the hopes of
increasing your learning resources. The tabs located above this window hold all
the tools you will need to do this such as the requirements your PC requires to
run the viewer, the basics of navigating the viewer and the
basic rules you should follow in-world, that is in the virtual world
Second Life.
In this blog you will learn how to communicate with people around the world within Second Life, you will also learn basics about using the viewer and about acceptable behaviour in Second Life.
All you need to do is follow the steps, each step will most likely have an example for you to see, just look at the examples and follow along, in some cases there may be links for you to follow such as the viewer download link or links that offer a more in-depth description of a step, as you progress you will see the blog right there next to you helping you as you go, and its alright to make mistakes, everybody does, just look again at the step and its example and I'm sure you will get it right in no time.

PDF and Power-point
I thought that a PDF or Powerpoint on this blog may help to save you from having to keep relogging onto this site to recheck something, especially if it is only something minor.
Here is a PDF of this blog as well as a Power Point presentation you can also find the presentation on Slide Share in case you are unable to get it from the first two which are stored on my Google drive.

Assessment
And finally I
have added assessments at the end of each of the blogs pages, the
assessment will ask you to show that you have completed the steps successfully
and how you felt about these steps while performing them, this is to help
you as you progress, kind of like a check-list, this may be so that
you can come back to see were you are up to, or to make sure that your on the
correct step and not skipping what may be an important part of
the process and also to help me see how I can improve this blog
for the others who may want to increase their personal learning network.
Well thats the
basic description of this blog so with out further ado, lets get started.

Explore to increase your learning network
Studying with different cultures, countries and places can greatly improve your learning network, within the virtual world we get the opportunity to glimpse at many expressions of learning environments, in one instance you can find London city full of life or you might like to see Venice, Amsterdam or Spain, in another you may be interested learning about Germany's past by travelling back to Germany 1942, but one of the awesome things about Second life is that you also have the opportunity to look into fictional places like futuristic cities, medieval castles, Deadwood the old wild western town or if you would prefer maybe 1001 Arabian Nights where you can explore the deserts and indulge in the fabled princess and genie adventures, then if you want maybe Little China or Little Tokyo might be more your preference unless you would rather walk around Samurai Island and learn the life of the Ronan.

Learning through in-world social networks
If educational institutes is more your preference then why not enrol in a few classes, schools or universities, in SecondLife the amount of learning institutes at your disposal is amazing but if your like me, then communities of like minded people are more to your comfort zone, so maybe you would like to join one of the thousands of groups SL has to offer, hang with these groups, learn from them, explore with them, learn and while learning, have fun.References
